Hi i am doing some reseach on game object structures. I have had a look at scene graphs, dependancy graphs, portal based. What other types are there and what are there advantages and disadvantages. I read one article that came up with an idea to use a dependancy graph with DAG structure and apply the observer pattern for non static objects for updating on demand, any views on this idea?

I''m also looking to improve my class / object structures, but for a 2D engine. Do you know any good resources?
