The best way on generating terrains

I whant to generate terrains in Bryce 4 and loaded with Opengl. Can someone point me in the right direction. I''m interested in what type of file I should export and how can I loaded in Opengl using VC++. Or could somebody tell me what is the best way on generating terrains. Any help is wellcome.
