Strange DirectX 9.0 problem

Hi! I have installed the directx 9.0 sdk some days ago.
#define DIRECTINPUT_VERSION 0x0800
...
LPDIRECTINPUT8			m_DirectInput;
LPDIRECTINPUTDEVICE8		m_DirectInputKeyboardDevice;
wont compile (taken from the samples)
#define DIRECTINPUT_VERSION 0x0800
...
LPDIRECTINPUT			m_DirectInput;
LPDIRECTINPUTDEVICE		m_DirectInputKeyboardDevice;
will compile. Also i have problems with directx functions. error C2065: ''DirectInput8Create'' : not declared If i change DirectInput8Create to DirectInputCreate error C2660: ''DirectInputCreateA'' : Function doesn''t accept 5 parameter Very strange...

Check the paths your compiler searches for include files. You''re possibly using an out of date dinput.h file. Ensure that your compiler checks C:\dxsdk\include (or wherever you installed the SDK) before other directories. The Microsoft compilers used to ship with the include files for DirectX 5 (I think) so maybe your compiler is coming across the dinput.h file from this before it finds the one you installed with DX9.
