I''m planning to rewrite my brute-force terrain renderer using geomipmapping. I''m wondering which will be faster, using one huge vertex buffer with approx. 1 million vertices, or 1024 vertex buffers with 1089 vertices each? It''s all explained here: - i''d appreciate any comment on the figures and thinking before i start coding... Note, this engine is not for the graphics card impaired; I want maximum speed for GF2+ cards, I don''t care about decend speed on lesser cards.
