What is the best free compiler? I''m trying to learn C++ but I need a compiler...

I''ve tried Dev C++. And Borland won''t even install (yes I followed the instructions on the page )
Just gcc in general. Saying that i believe dev c++ is the only half decient IDE for windows, correct me if im wrong.

Yes, and what's wrong with it?

Dev C++ is an IDE (integrated development environment), for/based on a compiler called MinGW (a Windows port of GCC). You could just try MinGW by itself, yet I can't see what would be wrong with Dev C++ for a beginner.
