Tricks of the 3D Game Programming Gurus: Advanced 3D Graphics and Rasterization
Hi everyone, recently i bought from Amazon.co.uk this book but that with the red cover (with the robot) arrived to me and not that with the dark cover (with future design, i think it's newer).
I would like to know if there are a lot of differences between the two books, because it would be difficult for me to change the book (i'm italian and i should send back the book to amazon in england), but i would change it, if there were a lot of changes.
Does anyone know?
thanks alot for the answer.
Bye
Guido

Dunno if it''s newer, but since the time between the two version is like 1 or 2 months, I doubt it. Maybe it''s just a different cover for the european release.
Btw, I really don''t like that book, his introduction is like "it''s advanced C++" blahblahblah, and then it starts with a ridiculous iostream.h and some stupid comments...
(that kinda made me stop reading the other parts of the book, so maybe it gets better later)

I could be wrong, but I don't think the book was ever released with that older dark cover. The red cover was the cover of the book when released in June 2003. Amazon.com made the cover change for the book graphic a few months before June. On the book itself, I think its great if you wanna learn what's behind the 3D of OpenGL/DirectX, but it doesn't teach an API. Plus its straight C which I prefer.

I'm pretty sure that the one with the dark cover has only about 1400 pages, but the one with the red cover has around 1700 pages, so I'm pretty sure you got the right one.
