which is easier out of dot3 product or vertex shading for lighting basically flat surfaces, say each surface may be fairly large made of 2 triangles. Also which is easier, and if you know any disadvantages or advantages or each, Thanks

well, vertex lighting is very much easier by far, but it won''t look as good as dot3 lighting. if you are only using directional light, and flat shading, vertex lighting will look the same as dot3 lighting, but if you use point and spot lights, dot3 lighting will look very much better, and with dot3 lighting you can do bumpmaps which make it look even better
