Help making .lib files
I''m trying to turn a class of mine into an easy to distribute static library but I cannot for the life of me figure out how. I''m using MSVC++ 7.1. Below are the steps that I tried.
New Win32 console project
--Under App settings I choose Static library leaving everything else as is
I add existing files (the header and source files that make up my class)
I try to compile but it says that "fatal error C1010: unexpected end of file while looking for precompiled header directive"
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Well I got the libary to compile fine but I can''t get it to link with another program. It complains about redefined symbols in msvcprt.lib and libcp.lib. From the errors it mostly looks to be complaing about STL and standard C++ functions (std::string, atoi, exit etc).
Make sure that all libs and the exe use the same runtime library (found under Code Generation).
Seems you are mixing multi- and singlethreaded versions.
