Power Hungry Tetris
Sick of tetris games that make efficient use of 2D graphics and run easily on a p200? Well, using my skills in programming and all the edumacation I gained from 4 years in university, I''ve put together a tetris clone... HUZZAH!
It''s still in the testing stages, but I''d love to hear any feedback or even just what FPS you got out of it!
Cheers
Me: 120 FPS - Intel 1.6GHZ, MSI GF3
Forgot to include a link to the game.. =)

Well done, thats great and for a weeks work too!
Maybe if you had full screen support it would make use of my hardware and run better on my voodoo 2. At the moment I get just over 1 FPS, unless I shrink the window. then its like playing on the gameboy :D
I think the pause mode should clear off the screen so the player can''t take time off to work out what to do. The text wasn''t restored after resuming from paused.
I really like the 3D background. And I hope to see a full screen mode soon.
Nicely done.

Ask and ye shall receive..
Thanks for the feedback Genaside, as you suggested I''ve added a full screen mode. Just press F1.
Enjoy!
btw, I intentionally had the text disappear since it was distracting and I figure the user only really needed to see it a once to get a hang of the controls.
Turning off the background by pressing the B key should vastly improve the game performance.

Pretty friggen sweet. As a certifiable Teris addict I thing I can safetly say that this is one of the best Teris'' that I have seen in a long time.
I was getting about 375 fps. My specs:
- Athlon 2500
- 1024 Megs DDR 2700
- MSI GeForce 4 Ti-4400
- Creative Audigy Gamer
Great job!

Hmm, I''m not sure what FPS I was getting because it was automatically getting clipped to 60 fps. Oh well I''m sure it runs fine on my comp lol, I got a P4 2.4 ghz with a Radeon 9800 Pro.
Anyways keep up the cool games hehe, later

yeah i got about 290 fps on meh athlon 2000+, geforce 4 ti4200. the reason you dudes are getting 60-70 fps is cos you have vsync turned on.
Nice game. The music totally rocks!!
I got ~80fps on my 900Mhz athlon + 128RAM + Radeon DDR 64 VRAM
You could improve the blending of the board with the background - use a nice texture with a gradient (low alpha on the sides ,high alpha in the middle).

Nice job! I like the music. I only got a whopping 11 fps windowed on my Athlon 1900 512MB Ge2 MX. I only wish I could afford to upgrade the video card. It''s still playable at that speed, though.
My vote for your next revision would be to add the power drop to immediately drop the current piece to the bottom. Otherwise, keep up the good work.
