sendto bounces back in 2nd recvfrom

hi, i have a client and a server. it''s a game, i use winsock via udp. my problem. if the server is still offline, not started, and i send a connection request via sendto from the client then the sended packet remains in the buffer? is this right? what i want is, that my client sends continously connecting request to its server ip,port... without reading them back while own recvfrom method... client_network_tick() recv_from => second iteration, receives it''s own packet process send_to => sends connection request thats the algorithm. whats the problem ? ciao maik
