Is there such a thing? I''d like to connect my PC & PDA/Palm using Winsock (like a software in PC uses winsock and a software in PDA/Palm uses WinSock also). are there alternatives to what I want to achieve? thanks.

Well, WinSock it the Windows TCP/IP API library so you should just be able to use Palm OS''s equivalent which is the Net library.

See http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/docs/palmos/NetLibrary.html
