I was wondering if there was any books, or websites that could show me how to make a game engine with OpenGL in Linux... I think it''s different then in Windows. I am running Mandrake 9.0. Has anyone ever done this successfully before? Thanks

You are wrong, its not any different than Windows, OpenGL is quite crossplatform, sure, the Initialization is different, but then if you use SDL its not.

I am currently working on a cross platform OGL game engine using SDL, I have ported NeHe's lesson 7 for aedGUI (link below), it compiles for both Windows and Linux, you might want to check it out to get some ideas, SDL's OpenGL initialization is FAR easier than Windows'.

Proud aedGUI developer.

Most of NeHe''s tutorials are ported to linux using three different methods (SDL being the first and foremost). Look at the bottom of the tutorials. Also on the NeHe homepage there''s a link to an SDL OpenGL boilerplate.
