hello, in the book programming role playing games in direct x, it shows you how to make a first person view world. I am making a rpg and it will be simmilar to a first person shooter. I was wondering if it was possible to add the animation for the weapon fireing to the bottom of my mesh world. If this is possible, what would be the easiest way to make the animations and graphics for this project?

Probably by using a stencil buffer.
Draw the weapon first, then render the scene using the stencil buffer which makes it draw only in areas where nothing was drawn before.

One way is to wait and draw the weapon last right in front of the camera. Turn of depth testing first though so it doesn''t clip through things if you get to close.
