Specular in Direct3D

I have a mesh with specular value for its material. I have turned on specualrenable render set. I have also turned on specularsource into material, but no specular color is visible. Does directional light produce no specular color? [edited by - The C modest god on October 15, 2003 10:21:15 AM]

Check the power (specular power) field of the material. Set that something non-zero. The higher the number the smaller the specular highlight. Also, be aware that per-vertex specular looks pretty bad.

Also, ensure your light is emitting a specular color. If you want your material to be the only thing affecting specular highlight color, then set the light''s specular to 1,1,1.
