What program do you use to Capture/Record stuff on your Screen?

yeah i found really cheeseeeeeeeeeeee programs that can do that.. but i want one that can give like i donno... anything more then 1 frame per second! ahhhhhhhhh plz i really wanna know how to do this, meh its for making my own trailers of my game character(s) thx for your help!!!! 8D and i an't talking about screen shots... i'm talking about like recording over like a certain ammount of time (aka movie)
PS i'm really bored thats the only reason why 8P.. but i do plan i doing somthing with games when i grow up

ok first of all waaaaaaaaaaaa? explain and.. are you white wizzer from rune scape???
what I do (well... would do if I were to want to do this) is hook my video card out to my VCR in, and my VCR out to my Tuner card, and then use my video capture program to capture what''s happening on my VCR (which would be showing my computer)...
