Is there a program or tool, to debug DirectX (mainly D3D) in a non-MS compiler? I''m using Dev-C++, if it helps at all. -- You''re Welcome, Rick Wong - sitting in his chair doing the most time-consuming thing..

Why would debugging a DX app be any different from debugging any other app in that non-MS compiler? (Apart from the obvious fullscreen issues which would be just as much of a problem in VC++ as well).

Because I want the Direct3D output, which you can get in the output box of MSVC++ if you run Direct3D on debug mode.
I want to hear about redundant states set, errors returned, etc..

Try DebugView from SysInternals: http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/debugview.shtml. It should give you the debug output from any application on the system.

I find it a little weird if your debugger didn''t also give you this functionality in some way.
