Hi, I''m currently studing ML (using SML) and somewhere I found the statement ''infix''. What exactly it? I was unable to find it googling for a while, so I decided to ask in this forum. Thank you!

Consider: 5 + 8.
The + is an infix operator, it has operands on both sides.

At least thats how I understand.

One cool thing you can do in ML is convert an infix operator into a prefix one using "op":

(op +)(5,8) == 5 + 8
