2d programming on directx 9

could anyone tell me where can i find documentation about 2d programming on directx 9? i cant find anything good for this on the sdk neither on google. unfortunatly i have to use directx 9 (cant use sdl or other api). im sorry for the stupid question. thanks.

there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers... which im about to provide.

ill give you the general overview.

2d in DX is very similar to 3d, instead you use pre-transformed vertices, generally arranged in 4 or 6 vertex quads.

otherwise you create your 2d quads, load textures, and move them in your screens 2 dimensions.

to get started, use tutorial 2 "Vertices", the toughest part in the beginning is learning how to initialize the adapter and how to use Vertex Buffers. good luck
