Ok! I''ve got my 2D engine using DirectX 8 working, the only thing missing is network code so what should I use Window Sockets or DirectPlay. Which of them is easier & what advantage does each posses. Thanks in Advance. VICKYIORI "Generality has its price in Specificity"

DirectPlay would be much more useful for you than Windows socket programming. Check out the SDK for information about this. It has tutorials and samples that should get you going with it.

DirectPlay is made with Windows Sockets. DirectPlay was made to be a layer ontop of Winsock to make networking programming easier and focused on what a game developer might need.

Whats better? Depends on what you want to do with it. For something simple, use DirectPlay. To learn more of the ins and outs of networking and have full control over how it works, then use Winsock.
