Hi, The BETA version of Hands to Quarters is now available at http://www.waltsgames.com/HQBeta.html . The purpose of this BETA version is to try and find any and all bugs that are in Hands to Quarters. Keep in mind that this is a BETA version and it does not have all of the features that the full version will. -Limitations Here is a list of some of the limitations of the BETA version of Hands to Quarters: - You are only able to play two of the ten random maps. The Plains map and the Peninsula map. - Only 4 of the 7 tutorial scenarios are included - Only 1 of the scenarios in the English Campaign is included - There is no Scenario Editor - You can only save one game at a time - No Multiplayer support - The BETA version will stop running after 11/20/03 - Bug Reports Please report any bugs you find to: beta@waltsgames.com or reply to this topic Please try to explain in as much detail as you can what the bug is and what you did/were doing to cause the bug. If the game crashes or stalls in any way please send the "DEBUG.TXT" file along with your report (don't copy it to a thread here...it's to big). This file contains information on what the game is doing while starting up and/or loading textures and will greatly help in finding the cause of the bug. Also when reporting a bug, please be sure to include your system specs. (such as processor, system memory, video card, etc.). Thank you for your time, and please tell me what you think. -Walter O. Just updated the BETA to version 0.99a which you can download from http://www.waltsgames.com/HQBeta.html .

This update will no longer change your system''s volume settings.

Performance wise you mean? If that''s the case, try some (or all of the following) in the Options menu:

1.) Set the Render Speed to 2 or 3 (try 2 first)
2.) Set Terrain Detail to Med. or Low (try Med. first)
3.) Set Tree detail to Low
4.) Set Lighting Detail to Med. or Low (try Med. first)
5.) Set AI Speed to 30

See if that helps.

Just wanted to tell everyone that an add-on to the BETA version is now available...the Hands to Quarters: Halloween Horror Pack!

Not only does it add some cool new Halloween stuff, but it also helps to test out how the future patches and expansions will work out.
