what type of graphics do you want? would help a lot if you told us if 2D or 3D.

You may find something on codeproject.com, but have you ever been told about something called Gamedev.net or something like that? The so-called stuff features an article and resources link menu that might interest you.

Hmm, isn''t C++ just the language that you use to write the code that performs everything, and then you use OpenGL or DX to actully make things look good, and output some eye candy? Or can you actually make some nice looking game with C++?

You can find some tutorials at gametutorials.com that explain how to do some basic graphics in the console window. That might be a good place to start.

No, Direct3D and OpenGL are used for graphics, and C++ is used to implement them.
