OpenGL SDL with OpenGL in Visual C++ 6

I tried using SDL with OpenGL in Visual C++ 6 as according to various examples, and would get the following 3 compiler errors: c:\program files\microsoft visual studio\vc98\include\gl\gl.h(1152) : error C2144: syntax error : missing '';'' before type ''void'' c:\program files\microsoft visual studio\vc98\include\gl\gl.h(1152) : error C2501: ''WINGDIAPI'' : missing storage-class or type specifiers c:\program files\microsoft visual studio\vc98\include\gl\gl.h(1152) : fatal error C1004: unexpected end of file found So I tried including windows.h before including OpenGL headers, as was recommended to me. Now I get the following 13 unresolved external symbol errors: test.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol __imp__glPopMatrix@0 test.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol __imp__glEnd@0 test.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol __imp__glVertex3f@12 test.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol __imp__glBegin@4 test.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol __imp__glColor3f@12 test.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol __imp__glRotatef@16 test.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol __imp__glPushMatrix@0 test.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol __imp__glClear@4 test.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _gluLookAt@72 test.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _gluPerspective@32 test.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol __imp__glViewport@16 test.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol __imp__glLoadIdentity@0 test.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol __imp__glMatrixMode@4 So then I tried including SDL_opengl.h instead, as recommended in an old post I found on here with Search. Same 13 unresolved external symbols. Now, if I include glut.h, which I''d accidently been doing for a while, everything works just fine. But including glut.h just to get SDL to work with OpenGL doesn''t sound very professional, nor should it even be necessary. What is in glut.h that windows.h and SDL_opengl.h are missing, and how do I fix it?
