In Direct Sound one has to set the cooperative level of the secondary sound buffers. One of the two arguements is the handle to a window. I am not sure why that would be needed, but it is so I am stuck with it. In an application with many windows, would it matter which window handle one used? Could one just use GetActiveWindow() and use that? What happens when the window changes? Anybody understand this feature? Thanks, Brian Brian Reinhold

Nope. But I am in the process of doing it. I have the initialization in a class and I want to avoid passing the handle of the dialog that created it. So I am going to call ''GetAtciveWindow()'' for the handle and see what happens.

Of ocurse, I have to write the rest of the sending code yet.
