GetAvailableTextureMem Usage

I am using GetAvailableTextureMem() with DX8. At startup it says that I have about 256 megs of texture memory available. Very strange, since I only have 128 on the board. I am running an Nvidia Quadro4 900 XGL under Win2k with the DX9b drivers. Any idea what these results mean? Is it including some system ram with these results? Thanks...
