what is the minimum necissary required to render with IDirect3DDevice9

If you mean code and you''re talking about C++, take a look at the Tut02_Vertices sample in the SDK (DXSDK\Samples\C++\Direct3D\Tutorials).

Ignoring the comments there''s about 100 lines of code in there.

Ignoring the comments and Win32 window handling code, about 70 lines of code.

Ignoring comments, window handling, globals/defines and D3D device initialisation/destruction - about 30 lines of code.

The actual draw call, scene set up & frame presentation is about 5 lines.


Any particular reason you ask ?

cuz I was just wondering why my program didn''t render the "random" pixels I was looking at the drunken hyena tuts and my program wouldn''t render the pixels
