For those who might be interested in participating in an online computer chess tournament, there is one taking place at the end of January 2004. You can find all of the details here: http://www.vrichey.de/cct6/ Your program must support a protocol that will allow it to play online automatically. The Winboard and UCI protocols are fairly easy to implement and will allow you to do this. The tournament is free and just for fun. Last time there were over 40 participants from all over the world, and the programs range from very weak to very strong, so don''t think your program isn''t good enough! It''s a great experience to get to chat with other chess programmers all weekend. They usually have a grandmaster or two that comments on the games as they are going on also.
