c++ books

i only know c++ console programming, never went to windows programming, so should i get a book that teach u win32 before i get the c++ for game programming book by Noel Llopis. if i should buy a windows programming book, should i get a vc++ book or just a book that teach u win32, thx for answering

Now I know someone out there is going to argue this. But the definitive BIBLE for Win32 programming is "Programming Windows with the Win32 API" by Charles Petzold. He has to be the guy who best explains it''s semantics, and explains everything very clearly.

As far as which to learn first, game programming or Win32, you should learn Win32 in my opinion. You will need to understand Win32 handles before you can understand many of the functions in a graphics API that uses Win32.

"Programming Windows with the Win32 API" by Charles Petzold is all taught in C, but i have no knowledge of it, is it ok
