DirectSound- no volume control :(

The sounds play fine, it''s just that calling DirectSoundBuffer::SetVolume() has no effect. I even tried passing in DSBVOLUME_MIN and the sound still plays at 0 dB. I only tried calling it after calling Play(), but that shouldn''t matter, right? The same goes for SetPan(), but SetCurrentPosition() seems to work. Thanx for any help.

When you create the buffer, you have to specify flags to tell it you want to set those properties at runtime.

Look up IDirectSound8::CreateSoundBuffer - it''s all there in the DSBUFFERDESC structure.
