I''m making a game that has three render modes and each has it''s own set of textures. Whenever I load a set of the textures, free them all with glDeleteTexture() and then load up second set it does so just fine. When I do the same thing again, it cannot even open the files to read them in as a texture. All file pointers from that point on read as NULL even if I try and load a text file. Any ideas on what the problem might be would be appreciated.

Are you closing the files when you are done with them? It sounds like you're running out of file handles.

Yeah, that was the problem. I stumbled onto it in another area of my code where I forgot I was opening files. Thanks for the answer anyway though.
