about particle engines?

DirectX tutorials are kind of lacking on the net, so your best bet would be to find a GL one and convert (bhough I''ve not seen an advanced one in GL either)

There''s one at NeXe, but it was pretty bad - as far as I recall. There''s another one at NeHe, but it''s pretty bad too, IMO.
And there''s the SDK sample, which isn''t exactly a generic thing, but it looks nice!

I remember this helped me ALOT when I was starting out with particles. I also remember Shilbert releasing some very very easy to read code that helped me a lot a few years back. I wonder if he still has that around somewhere.
