OpenGL Dialog box displaces rendering in OpenGL

I've just created a dialog box to edit some variables within the project I'm working on. It's not a severe problem but I've noticed that when the dialog box is over the window I'm rendering to, the area to the right of the dialog box is shifted to the right.... eg numbers represent rendered scene x represents dialog box 112233445566778899 112233445566778899 11223344XXX6677889 11223344XXX6677889 11223344XXX6677889 112233445566778899 as I said it's not a severe problem, but does anyone know what causes this and a way to stop it ? cheers dan Game production: Good, quick, cheap: Choose two.
