Question about glTexParameter. . .

I''m just wondering: does OpenGL set the state defined by that function for the currently bound texture or is it a global state? I just realized that in my programs I''ve never actually had multiple textures with different parameters and am wondering how it works. It would be somewhat inconvenient to have to set the texture parameters potentially multiple times each frame just to make sure each has the correct wrap modes or filtering modes enabled. . .

True, but I noted in NVidia''s anisotropic filtering demo, texture parameters were assigned each frame, so I got a little confused.
