hi all, I know people had problems with this a while ago, but I cant remember what the solution (if there was one) was... I use the control panel applet for DX to tweak debugging settings etc.. but now that I''ve installed DX9.0b (so I can play halo-pc) its disappeared any ideas? You need to uninstall the DirectX 9.0 SDK and install the DirectX 9.0b (or better, Summer Update) SDK.

It''s likely all you''ve installed from DirectX 9.0b is the retail runtime - the matching debug runtime, symbols, control panel applet etc are in the SDK.
