ASE file format

Someone posted a thread talking about a line in an ase file that read something like ROT_KEY 1.0000 0.0000 0.0000 0.0000 0.0000 0.0000 0.0000 when i try to export an animated scene from 3D Studio to ase i don''t see anything like this. It exports the actual vertex values for each key instead of just the rotation and translation does ase support both types of animation or was this person mistaken if someone knows where i can get ahold of the ase file specification that would be a big help
