Ive been learning directx6 with the lamothe book I bought and since the book uses dx6 I was wondering if it was worth getting the dx7 sdk, my computer always loses connection because the download is too big. Are there any big changes from 6 to 7 to make it worthwhile? thanks

If it''s just for learning I guess you can wait for DirectX 8 but if you are serious about making a game then always use the latest version.

Buy the way. Have you heard about the program GetRight?
It makes it possible to continue a download after it was shut down.

You don´t have to use the latest version even if you are serious about making a game.

Especially not if you are making a 2D game.

I think you are right about the 2D thing but what I meant was making a serious game that you wan''t payment for then you probably wan''t the latest texhnology like Hardware T&L.
