Volumetic Fog using ARB_fragment_program

hello guys! the question is simple! Any idea how to implement volumetric fog with ARB_fragment_program?

With or without shadows? Without is quite simple.

Compute the smallest distance from the light to the ray between the camera and the fragment and let the fog volume brightness decay according to it.
