Currently, for Windows apps, my message loop is while (!quitflag) { // Delete one message (take no action upon it) PeekMessage(&msg, hwnd, 0, 0, PM_REMOVE); // Game loop gameloopfunction(); } This is fine for a normal Win32 app but in a screensaver I understand that the message loop is the entry point so how do high speed interactive loops work? (for interactive, read as: directX, fancy graphics, page flipping). while (!quitflag) gameloopfunction(); Would lock out the system. Any ideas? Mark

a screensaver is no different from any other program (i.e. the entry point is WinMain()) with a different extension (.SCR).

its just a normal program. you just make it close itself if it detects mouse movement or keys or whatever.
