Use what terminology comes natural to you. The more you get around to physically chit-chatting with people that use this terminology in dialogue, you''ll develop what sounds best to you and is easiest to get across.

Sometimes ''<'' and ''>'' get callled wakkas.

So, ><> is "wakka wakka wakka!" but it seems fishy to me.

I like pie.

Perhaps from the sound of a pac-man eating dots ? They look slightly pac-manish.
