OK, I just initialised the DirectSound and my FPS decreased significantly. Why? Since I didn''t load any sound I think this is not normal.

Do something, play a sound or anything.

As long as you don''t do anything in an initialized DirectX-component it will run a default-loop which draws a lot of performance as far as I know.

It happend to me too and after realy using the component everything raised back to the state I awaited.

Hi, thanks for the replies.

Invhunter, I loaded and played one sound, but the FPS continued the same.

I am surprised:

- Without DirectSound: I get ~50 FPS.
- With DirectSound: I get ~35 FPS.

I think this is not normal...
