Hey, I''m kind of new to Java GUI development. I''m looking for something that''s kind of like the Internet Explorer ActiveX control - a souped up text box that I can send HTML to and have it nicely rendered. Using IE through some kind of COM interface is not an option, since the final result must run cross platform. Does anyone have any ideas? This is for making an online Mafia client, so I''m basically writting a standalone program that acts like a BBS. This is something I am doing in my spare time and thus I am not interested in writing my own HTML browser control as this would take far too long. ---------------------------------------- Let be be finale of seem, seems to me. ---------------------------------------- Coding: http://www.stanford.edu/~jjshed/coding Miscellany: http://www.stanford.edu/~jjshed

Look at Swing. Some of it''s components can render HTML.

The Swing tutorial is at http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/index.html
