console plug-in

I''m going to write a console plug in that I can use in my applications/games. I was just wondering exactly what would be the best way to implement it. I have a few options: 1) Just a .h and .cpp file which can be added to any project. 2) A static .lib .h combination 3) A dll The thing is, I''d like to use a rich text edit control for the console, so that it can store text and pictures, which means using MFC, but I don''t want the client application to have to use MFC, so I think a dll is probably the best way to go. I tried an MFC dll, but when I tried to implement it in a test app, the stdafx.h stuff gave me a load of errors, and the appwizard produces really horrid looking code to debug. So what''s people''s oppinions, and can anyone tell me how to go about creating an MFC dll in VC6 which can be linked to a non MFC app. Thanx. --------------------------------------- Let''s struggle for our dream of Game! http://andrewporritt.4t.com

you don''t need mfc to use rich edit controls.
