Updated yet again with the above program. Made mention of the new Blender release. And moved ASE from the 2D section to the sprite section, where it really seems to belong.
I'm not sure if it fits, but mayb <a href="http://www.jasc.com/products/paintshoppro/> Jasc Paint Shop Pro? It's supposed to be really good with imaging and things like that.

i am a mac user and most of my friends (graphic designers) use also macs. i'm talking about 2d because i don't really know about 3d modelling but i'm still interested in the 2d soft titles. but i guess it will help too for mac users who would want to creat 3d data
can you add which soft is macosx / win / linux compatible, i think it will be a great help thanks.

request : i am a mac user and would like to know which soft is mac compatible. and while you're at it, you might as well which ones work on linux boxes too. i think this is a valid request because i know that all my graphic designer friends use macs (well, they are a lot in 2d, not really 3d) and i assume thus some users in this part of gamedev forum have macs too.
