What''s the fastest way to achieve a fading effect in DirectDraw? Could someone either explain or else point me to a thorough tutorial on the subject? I''m using Visual C++ 6.0 and DirectX 7; the project is a tile-based RPG I''m running in 320x240x16bpp. Thanks a lot! -Ironblayde  Aeon Software

I''d just e-mailed you something. It''s a tutorial in html format and a VC++ project that will teach you how to fade directdraw surfaces.

It''s the only way you can do this, at least if you don''t want to use Direct3D.
