Which channel is mono sound sent on?
In DirectSound you can play mono or stereo sounds. THe mono requires only half the memory and it can be somewhat simpler to write to such a sound buffer.
However, the output of the sound card still has a left and right speaker line. If I create a mono signal does the signal get sent on the left, right, or both lines of the output?
My guess is both, but that maybe dependent upon the sound card manufacturer. If anyone knows for sure of any standard, I would appreciate the confirmation!

By default mono audio gets sent to both output channels.
You can change this with IDirectSoundBuffer8::SetPan().

Same on both, USUALLY.
For 3D sound, your audio must be mono sources. It''s mixed to left, right, front, back, etc magically for you depending on it''s position relative to the listener.
