How about creating a separate arena for Direct Sound and related problems. Though in some ways they are similar to DirectX graphics, the uses and specialties are quite different. Wavesynthesis, speech analysis, delays, latency, DSP, and related items also come up in this area which are quite unique. Expertise in the area of DirectSound/DirectSoundCapture/etc. seems considerably thinner than DirectX. It might help to pool resources! Brian

Are you talking about making an entirely different forum for DirectSound? If so, this is the DirectX forum, which is Direct3D, DirectInput, DirectSound, DirectMusic, DirectShow, and DirectPlay. However, it seems like 90-95% of all topics here are Direct3D related, simply because it''s the most popular for hobbyists, and probably one of the hardest Direct*''s to master.

Yes I was, and precisely for that reason. The DirectX forum is basically about the graphics end. It so dominates everything it might be good to put all the other "Direct stuff" items in a separate forum. They are also used by hobbiests, but not nearly as much as the visual ones for obvious reasons!

Direct Sound items and non graphics items quickly get lost in the crowd.
