"Basic" 3DS loader problems with textures

I''m using the NeHe 3DS loader to add some models to my existing (fairly simple) scene graph, but I have some problems when loading textures. When using JPEG files, the textures seem to load fine but they are often skewed slightly. I figure this is a u,v problem (I''m using the NeHe JPEG loader library) but I''m not sure what to change. When using BMP files, the textures are sometime pixellated (even in the tutorial). Clearly something is different in the model, but I''m not sure what to look for. Any ideas? Thanks! - Andrew
