run program behind icons

is there a way to run your program that you made in c++ to run behind the icons. i want it to be desktop mode. i seen some programs that done that before. so i want to know how to do it in c++. Lol, I don't think you can "run" your program behind the icons. As for blitting directly onto the desktop, I don't know exactly how to do it but i've seen it done..

yes i seen it done before to, bsplayer did it.

I know of two different ways of doing it. Either by using overlays, or by drawing between the messages that tells the desktop to erase the background and draw the icons.
