mds file format + rendering
I am writing some classes that parse and load an mds file, from Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and then renders it. A few weeks ago I posted a question on how to go about constructing the transformation matrix using the animation data encoded in the file and received a much appreciated pointer to a web site. Now, I''ve got the model rendering but the problem is that it almost looks like it''s being rendered inside out, if that makes any sense.
During my original research into parsing an mds file I remember quickly reading that someone had a problem rendering the model and fixed it by using the inverse of the transformation matrix when drawing the points. Am I on the right track here? And if so, can somebody point me to a good tutorial on calculating the inverse of a matrix. I''ve been looking around but when I find something there''s very little explanation and no commenting of sample code. I think the Gauss method is the method needed.
If anyone out there can give me a hand with this one I''d appreciate it.
