Jittery DirectSound on Win2k: Anyone else?

I''m getting reports that the sound in my game jitters on a 1.6ghz PC, SB Live!, Win 2k. I''m running a similar system but with WIn98 and it works fine here so I''m thinking it could be the OS. I''m using DirectSOund (not DirectMusic) mono 22050hz effects with a stereo primary buffer because of the need for stereo music. No streaming, just basic filling of buffers on init and the Play command. Some buffers are cloned (Duplicated) but non-cloned ones seem to cause problems. I''m not sure if cloned ones do. As mentioned, it seems fine on most systems but this one user reports staccato that ruins even short SFX. Anyone else had similar problems? Control Panel->DirectX->DirectSound. Make sure Debug Output Level is on less.

I recall having a problem once and that seemed to fix it.

Good luck!
