Do you blokes think this music could ever suit a game? I did it with no particular style in mind but I think it came out more ''film score'' than anything. C+C appreciated. 3.5mb Dark Hordes Arise! As you suspected, it''s not quite ambient enough for a game, even in the first minute. The radical dynamics and tempo changes as it progresses are not very well suited to games, since you can never predict when game play events will occur (unless you have some sort of intelligent audio system, in which case this piece could add tremendously to the mood). A good selection overall, it''s probably better suited at this time to a medium with predictable mood changes. Good work.

I could hear it in a cutscene or a boss battle say. But ambient wise no, the song is too busy and draws too much attention to itself to be a stock b/g song. (I was actually really seeing a huge battle taking place listening to your song, lots of evil looking things and big swords and such!!)

What is ambient?

I think it sounds very moody and good, maybe the fast part in the end wont fit so good, but there are som tempo changes in warcraft3 for example and that works...

this was a really good "filmy music". would be great in a cut-scene or a movie scene.

"ambient" according to Collins english thesaurus means:
air, atmosphere, aura, character, complexion, feel, flavour, impression, milieu, mood, quality, setting, spirit, surroundings, temper, tenor, tone, vibes, vibrations

in this context ambient is "stuff in the background, that''s there for the mood but doesn''t make you focus on it". And as said, that track is to powerful to just sit in the background and loop during normal gameplay. Which doesn''t make it bad, it''s actually really good
